Remarks: To gain the summit of Half-Mountain, one must endure a lengthy bushwhack through a dense yet rocky northeasternly facing coniferous forest. Just below tree line, where most of the vegetation becomes stunted and fragile, stand the incredible towering remains of dead limber pines. The warm hue of the bark of these strange trees contrasts starkly with the uniform forest green that abounds.
