Picture Information Taken: September 11th, 2008 Location: Indian Peaks Wilderness, Boulder County Remarks: Well, it is safe to say that I will remember this moment for a long time. We were four days into these 8th graders' first backpack, damp and frozen, crossing a pass above 12,000 feet. The wind was relentless, brutalizing exposed ski and numb limbs. Many of the children had never seen snow before, let alone a Colorado Winter Storm. But they dug deep, struggling mightily, and pushed through particularly nasty conditions.
